Visited on Saturday, not busy, directions and info on the website were perfect. On arrival a friendly finger pointed to the parking area, this was followed by a handshake and warm welcome from Oliver. Coffee, chat and walk around looking at the scenery before departing to the east.
Fabulous little aerodrome. I flew in after-hours for the first time a few days ago, and will definitely be visiting again. It's set in a stunning location near the downs, and is conveniently easy to spot due to the neighbouring solar farm. They also have an excellent and frequently updated website, which makes it really easy to brief yourself and get PPR.
If you are contemplating flying to the south coast this is an ideal place to park your plane. It’s a little off beaten track so you need to have road transport plan in place. Very friendly airfield easy to find and welcoming. Good runways go on try it.
First of all Kittyhawk is straightforward to find, though attention to their briefing is most important. A nice Farm Airfield with a choice of two Runways, both of which are in good condition. Taxiways in good condition, as always taxi with caution. On arrival a very friendly welcome from Ollie then spent some time chatting with a few of the airfield residence over a cup of tea. Nicely positioned beside the South Downs, it is peaceful spot with lovely views. No doubt transport is be available for nearby towns and the Sea. Looking forward to a return visit.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable local event which delivered our aviation fix last weekend. Armed with phone camera and radio to extend the experience, it was a plane and helicopter festival on our door step. The Lebanese BBQ, cakes and coffees were a big hit for both of us, and the whole vibe was helped along by the DJ. A 1/6 scale model tank, remotely controlled by a young lad, delighted everyone. This was a great day out for pilots, aviation enthusiasts and families alike. We thoroughly recommend that everyone should save this date for next year. Thank you Kittyhawk, We will be coming back.
