Kittyhawk Aerodrome is the ideal destination for a smooth & convenient transfer to Glyndebourne Opera – we are in fact the closest airfield by a country mile! We provide an efficient transfer in comfort to and from Glyndebourne by private vehicle (max 4 pax) or MPV (max 8 pax).

Secure & discrete location

As a working airfield, we are no stranger to the needs of private aviation – particularly beneficial for individuals with time constraints, VIPs and those who prefer air travel for convenience or security reasons.

We provide a discrete, safe location for helicopter operations away from prying eyes & sensitive ears.

We also accept night flights (defined as sunset + 30mins) & international flights (EU, IoM, Channel Islands) having a specific agreement in place with UK Border Force (who will likely attend for clearance).

Pilot info

We can be found on Helipaddy, SkyDemon & Pooleys. Please check our Circuit Pattern & Advanced Pilot Awareness before filing for PPR (which must be filed electronically prior to arrival). For Helipaddy users we have a detailed site survey on the app.

Pilots are most welcome to use our facilities & clubroom.

The future

As a growing airfield, we are always looking to augment our facilities, including sale of JetA1 Avtur, a 24V ground feed and night lighting / concrete helipad.

I recently had to transport some passengers via helicopter to Kittyhawk aerodrome to attend a concert at Glyndebourne. The staff were very helpful, arranging a seamless transfer from Helicopter, to an Executive Limousine that they helped arrange. The passengers were at Glyndebourne within 15 minutes of touching down at the airfield.
